About Dr. Marta
Life Coach in Communication & Spiritual Consciousness
I experience great joy in walking along side people to support them to decrease their suffering and increase their joy in their relationships, circumstances, and Awareness of who they Are.
Education and Calling
Throughout my life, people sought me out for non-professional counseling. Therefore, in midlife, I entered The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and, in 1996, I earned a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) degree.
Intense spiritual training began in the year 2000 after I attended a weekend workshop called “The Listening Course” with Dr. Carol McCall (founder of The Institute for Global Listening and Communication). I returned home and applied the Tools I had learned to my relationship with my husband, Steve. The host of communication challenges we experienced began to shift, and we both marveled at the difference.
As a result, I enrolled in Dr. McCall’s training program. For the next four years, I underwent an intense process of further growth and transformation. At the end of it, Dr. McCall certified me to teach listening / communication tools. I then enrolled in her training to become a Life Coach in Communication.
I chose to do this work because I saw how the tools contain within them the seeds for profound emotional, psychological and spiritual transformation. Because of my own experience, I felt compelled — called by unseen soul-forces — to serve others through teaching and coaching. I wanted them to experience the freedom, love and life-satisfaction I had found.
Personal
I’ve been married to Steve Adelsman for 50 years. (He leads tours to Japan; visit his website). In relationship, we continue to learn ever-deepening and sometimes painful lessons. Our willingness to communicate and to make ourselves vulnerable with one another enabled our love to grow. It has also provided fuel for my blogs!
My relationship with Steve has been and continues to be a laboratory of insight and experimentation. Together we raised three wonderful sons, who qualify as three of my best teachers.
We enjoy life with two dogs, Bella and Hero. They take me on daily walks, teach me patience, and encourage me to play.
